How do I get my own MySpace URL?

Editing your MySpace profile can be a daunting task, I for one got very confused with the navigation inside of my MySpace profile and found it difficult to try and customize with any success. One of the most important things to make sure of is that you give your myspace domain the name you want...that is your MySpace URL extension. (i.e. www.myspace.com/yournamehere.html)

To do this go onto MySpace and look at your own profile by clicking on Home in the top left corner, right below your profile picture is a little red box that says "Pick your MySpace name/URL". Click on that and you'll have the chance to specify your own customer URL, assuming it's not already taken. You will then be given a series of warning messages from MySpace stating that you can never change your profile name again once you set it up, so make sure it is indeed the name you want.

Editing your MySpace profile URL can have many advantages when others try to locate you, especially if you use your own name as the domain name extension (unless you prefer anonymity!) Just make sure that your name hasn't already been assigned to another person that actually has the same name as you (been known to happen in a communitay with 55 million users!).

Many musicians, actors and companies are quick to reserve their own MySpace names so they can capatilize on their popularity and boost their albumn sales, movie attendances, or product brand awareness. MySpace can even send your website more traffic than the search engines if you work on getting lists of friends and continually update your MySpace presence with real content!
