Tricks to Drawing in more Friends with your MySpace Profile
On MySpace, what comes first is introducing yourself so you need to say something about your personality and interests. You do that in the introduction and "about me" boxes. What happens next is up to you. You have a choice of jazzing up or pimping your profile with backgrounds, pre-made layouts and special graphics. A lot of MySpace members add music to their profile. You can join the party and add your favorite tune as well!
First step: Go to MySpace and then log in to your MySpace profile.
Second step: When you land on your profile page, click on the link that says "music." Easy, huh?
Third step: Once you're in your profile, click on the Music link. This will lead you to the "music room"; actually, it's the MySpace music area where again, you'll be asked to select from the drop down menus. MySpace made sure all types of music are represented here because not everyone likes the same kind of music obviously. The drop down music menu allows you to pick a tune based on singer and genre and even a "sounds like" option if you don't know the artist's name or the song title.
Fourth step: When you've made your choice, you click on the singer's photograph or name; if your selection is included in the official MySpace collection, you'll see a red banner at the top that says "MySpace Music." A gray box should appear where you can listen to the songs.
Fifth and final step: decide if this is the artist or song you really want, then click on "add song to profile." That's it. Your profile will be belting out a tune that blends in perfectly with all your layouts, themes and images!
Oh, one detail to note: there's a difference between adding music to your profile and promoting your music. If you're a musician at heart and have composed your own songs, you can create an account with MySpace Music. Once you create your account, you can do an artist's profile of yourself and then upload your music.
If you have music in your computer that you've downloaded from the Net, you won't be able to add that music - unless of course the rules have changed. You can check with MySpace or you can go ahead and try uploading it. If it works, fine; if it doesn't, send MySpace a question.
If you want more information, visit the forums and choose music.
