Using Pre-Made MySpace Layouts
With the advent of web 2.0 technology and all the templates that are being offered for free, you'd be depriving your profile of oomph if you don't use any of the pre-made MySpace layouts.
If you're a MySpace newbie, don't fret. Even if you don't know a thing about web design or haven't mastered HTML to a T, you can still use a pre-made MySpace layout to grace or pimp your profile. This involves adding color, theme and background.
MySpace has become so huge and so sophisticated that it can be overwhelming to find help with pre-made MySpace layouts. The first thing you should do is just take a crack at it (a.k.a. getting your feet wet)! Follow the steps in creating a profile - it's the first thing you need to do anyway when you sign up. Fill in the introduction and "about me" boxes with what you want to say, then follow the prompts in the edit section.
Next, if you're stuck, you can click on the forums and scroll down to the MySpace sub-heading. Click on "customizing" and there you'll get a lot of helpful tips. There are a lot of friendly souls on MySpace and some of them know quite a bit about pre-made layouts. Don't be shy, ask away. You're likely to stumble on someone who'll only be glad to help.
Another thing you can do is go to the homepage of MySpace and scroll down towards the right hand margin. You'll see a box called "sponsored links" and there's a link for backgrounds and layouts. All you need to do is click on one of those ads just to get a flavor of how they'd look on your profile. And within MySpace, there are links for FREE backgrounds and layouts.
Another alternative: scroll up to the MySpace home page and type "layouts" in the search box. Make sure you indicate "MySpace", not the web in general in the search box. This will take you to some MySpace members ads who do layouts for people. Some of them will charge you a fee, others would probably give them away gratis.
Sky's the limit when it comes to pre-made MySpace Layouts: sexy, light, dark, Nemo themes, flowers, actors and artists - you name it - you'll find one that will go very well with your profile.
You know the saying "build it and they will come?" Use fabulous layouts and you'll have friends knocking on your door in no time!
